Fit and Fed Summer 2021
As part of Plymouth’s Fit and Fed 2021, this summer the Food Is Fun team visited holiday clubs across the city, talking to children about food and how to have a healthy diet. Children were amazed to see the amount of sugar that some of their favourite foods contained.
Alongside these we were also out in the community delivering our Cookery Clinics at the Fit and Fed Roadshows throughout the summer. Parents and carers dropped in to chat about all things food such as how to feed those fussy eaters, money-saving tips, recipe ideas and cooking hacks to make life a little easier.
The Big Picnic
Through our Food Buddies Facebook group we had great fun hosting our Big Picnic where people across the city and as far as Spain, came together virtually to share a picnic. The aim was to include everyone, regardless of location. We held a prize draw for some lovely picnic goodies for those who shared their photos. Thankfully the weather was kind and the sun shining, so families and individuals were able to make the most of the outdoors!
